Gundlach Bundschu to Sonoma Plaza

Join us this year for our latest addition to the Napa-to-Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon. The fun run will begin at Gundlach Bundschu Winery and follow the last section of the half-marathon course before finishing in downtown Sonoma at the historic plaza. The event will be limited to 400 runners.

5K Registration

Being a fun run, both runners and walkers are welcome to participate. You should be able to keep a 20:00 per mile pace to enter this 5K race. This course is considered very scenic with "easy" difficulty being mostly flat terrain. See Course Information for more details.

3 Wave Start

*Runners will be assigned to different waves based upon the estimated finish times they indicated on the registration page. Each wave will consist of approximately 100 runners.

Wave 1: 8:15am start time - bib numbers 3300-3399
Wave 2: 8:20am start time - bib numbers 3400-3499
Wave 3: 8:25 am start time - bib numbers 3500-3599

GunBunFunRun 5K: $50 (Includes Festival entry with wine glass)
GunBunFunRun 5K: $25 (No wine glass and tasting)

Transportation and Parking

There is parking at Gundlach Bundschu but you must arrive by 7:30am to be allowed a parking space. Take 8th St. or Napa Rd. to Denmark St. to the entrance to the winery at 2000 Denmark St. and you will be directed back to the winery parking lot.

You may park at the main transportation in Sonoma and take a bus to the start at Gundlach Bundschu Winery. There is also one bus from Cuvaison that leaves immediately after the half marathon start. See Transportation page for more details.

Drop-off Information: Runners who do not wish to take the buses may be dropped off at the corner of Welzel Ln. & Burndale Rd. After being dropped off runners will walk approximately 0.6 miles to the start area.

Awards

The overall top 3 Male & top 3 Female finishers will receive awards. There will not be age group awards for the GunBunFunRun 5K.

Course Rules and Procedures

When you leave the Gundlach Bundschu driveway you will be merging onto the half marathon course. Stay on the right side of the cones, and be careful not to interfere with half marathon runners on the left side of the cones. You will eventually merge into the half runners, so be courteous and cautious. See Race Info page for more details.
