EXPO SEMINARS - Saturday
Presented by Matt Dockstader, Race Director and Janet Cain, local elite runner
Nobody knows the Napa-to-Sonoma half marathon course better than these two local runners. Matt designed the course and Janet has won her age division here almost every year and trains on the course. Learn about what to expect on each segment of the course and the best strategy for finishing strong! And maybe even a few suggestions on where to find the best food and wine after the race.
2:00 to 2:45pm - Running Shoes > How to find the right shoe for your running style
Presented by Jorge Maravilla, Manager of Napa Running Company
Jorge is an accomplished runner and an expert in finding and fitting the right running shoe for individual needs. He'll demonstrate how various running styles and foot shapes match best with specific shoe types and makes. He'll talk about which new shoes are on the market and how you can benefit from the new technology. Attendees may be asked to volunteer for an analysis. Seminar attendees receive give-aways from Brooks Running Company.
3:00 to 3:45pm - Motivational Seminar > Extreme Runner- Motivational Speaker- Coach
Presented by Dane Rauschenberg author of See Dane Run
First, Dane Rauschenberg ran 52 consecutive weekend marathons in 2006, while working a full-time job in a patent licensing firm in Washington DC. Then, in the last weekend of April of this year, he took on the 12 person, 202 mile American Odyssey Relay - by himself! Finishing in just a shade of 50 hours, Dane continues to amaze and inspire, especially since his running career began just a few years before his 52 Marathon adventure. We are happy to have Dane at our race this year where he will not only be signing copies of his book, See Dane Run, but also speaking about what motivates him to take on such long distance running endeavors.
